Legislative Advocacy
Guiding clients through the legislative process
Ayres Law Group attorneys possess deep knowledge of federal environmental laws and the policymaking process. If you need to understand — or change — federal environmental policy we provide experienced, thoughtful counsel and help you design and carry out a plan to achieve your policy goals. We know how to put together a winning plan, draft your legislation, and guide it through the legislative process.
Experienced advocates
Our attorneys have decades of experience — starting with assuming leadership roles in the adoption of the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1977 and 1990. We are experienced legislative strategists and drafters, and have assisted clients with objectives ranging from placing targeted provisions to creating comprehensive legislative proposals. Each strategy is tailored to the particular needs of our clients and we utilize our strong relationships with key environmental policymakers on Capitol Hill to help our clients achieve their goals. We represent clients on a range of air and energy matters, including climate change, fuels, and clean energy proposals.
Policy expertise
Our lawyers have served on national commissions reviewing the substance and process for administering national environmental policy, including:
- National Commission on Air Quality Report, To Breathe Clean Air, March, 1981
- Carnegie Commission on Science, Technology, and Government, Risk and the Environment: Improving Regulatory Decision Making, June, 1993
The firm focuses on legislative advocacy related to air quality, climate change, and energy.
